Arnold & Porter, a top-ranked law firm in the Chambers/Legal 500 Band 1, is seeking a mid-level to senior associate for our Government Contracts & National Security Practice Group in our Washington, . office. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile, complex cases and transactions with a team of experienced attorneys.

The Government Contracts & National Security Practice Group at Arnold & Porter handles a diverse range of legal matters, including litigation, investigations, export control, cybersecurity, mergers and acquisitions, and counseling work. Our team has a strong reputation in the market and has worked on notable cases, such as multi-billion dollar contract award challenges for large aerospace and defense companies, and negotiating unique agreements with the government. We also have extensive experience advising recipients and subrecipients of grants on compliance and federal audits, enforcement actions, and other controversies with awarding agencies.

As a mid-level to senior associate, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and cases, including litigation and investigations. However, we are particularly interested in candidates with experience and interest in mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions involving government contractors. This could include due diligence, asset and stock purchase agreements, and novations. We value independent and creative thinking, and our team works collaboratively to provide high-quality legal services to our clients.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a minimum of four years of prior legal experience in government contracts law and a demonstrated interest in the field. Strong research, writing, and analytic skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Preference will be given to candidates with experience as a judicial clerk for the . Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit or the Court of Federal Claims, or those with academic training in government contracts law. Excellent academic credentials and references are required.
