Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate to join its Washington, . region office. This position offers the opportunity to handle a broad range of employment-related claims and represent employers in various legal proceedings, including class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, and non-compete cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment law and will be expected to provide strategic counsel to clients on employment and labor law matters.

Duties:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits involving employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination.
  • Advise, counsel, and train employers on various employment and labor law matters.
  • Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, and at mediations and arbitration in employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract, tort, and non-compete cases.
  • Handle class and collective actions, and provide support in other labor and employment-related issues.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to develop legal strategies for clients in labor and employment matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials.
  • 3+ years of experience, with a preference for candidates with an employment law background.
  • Current Virginia Bar admission in good standing.
  • Strong understanding of current agency (state and federal) procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork.

Education:

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Current VA Bar admission.

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law, with a focus on litigation and agency charges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
