Overview:
- Represent both the agency and individual employees in state and federal litigation, administrative matters, and hearings
- Handle constitutional and civil rights actions with a focus on §1983 litigation
- Provide daily advice and counsel to divisions within the Department of Human Services
- Manage a full litigation caseload with complex factual or policy issues
- Report to the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, and Litigation Section Chief
- Position located in Oklahoma City, OK
Minimum Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- License to practice law in the State of Oklahoma
- Active membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association
- Minimum of nine (9) years of legal experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory position
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a full litigation caseload
- Represent the agency and its employees in administrative and judicial matters
- Advise on law, regulations, and court opinions
- Prepare recommended guidance and act as second-chair for assigned cases
- Conduct all necessary motions and discovery
- Perform other work as assigned by superiors
