Overview:
- The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Paralegal to join their team in Tucson, AZ.

- This is a full-time position with a non-exempt FLSA status, and the selected candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in case preparation.

Position Description:
- The Paralegal will handle a variety of tasks ranging from routine assignments to autonomous decision-making in coordinating, processing, and monitoring complex and specialized legal casework.
- Tasks may include case management, discovery and trial preparation, legal writing and drafting, legal research, judgment and analytical ability, interviewing, and communications/attorney liaison.
- Some positions may specialize in one of the following areas: managing large complex case files, prioritizing and reviewing work of other legal assistants, training other legal secretarial or litigation support staff, and using independent judgment and decision making.
- The Paralegal may also be responsible for special projects such as developing and implementing organizational redesign of case handling procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- An Associate’s, Bachelors or Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited college in a field such as a paralegal, legal assistant, law, business, legal secretary, criminal justice, political science, interdisciplinary studies, regional development, communications, or a closely related field as defined by the Appointing Authority at the time of recruitment.
OR
- A certificate of completion in paralegal or legal assistant studies from an American Bar Association (ABA) approved program at an accredited college or university.
- Additional relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.
Selection Process:
- The Pima County Human Resources Department will evaluate all applications based on education and experience, and may further evaluate candidates against any advertised Preferred Qualifications.
- The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources.
- Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.

- All applicants must pass a criminal history background investigation prior to appointment.
- Physical and sensory abilities will be determined by position.
