A law firm in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an Immigration Attorney to join their team. Reporting to the Sr. Associate Attorney, the Immigration Attorney will manage their own caseload, engage in client interactions, and collaborate with the firm's Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants. This role requires expertise in immigration law, with responsibilities including representing clients in various proceedings, preparing applications, and providing strategic legal solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Sr. Associate Attorney while managing a caseload of immigration cases.
  • Explain complex immigration concepts to clients and present strategic legal solutions.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a workload of cases efficiently, ensuring timely progress and resolution.
  • Conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers to gather necessary information.
  • Prepare and file a range of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications and packets as needed.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine appropriate strategies.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential case benefits and prepare legal briefs for various immigration matters.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload effectively and advance legal cases.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Nevada.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in immigration law and procedures.
  • Experience with case management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
  • Capability to handle multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
