Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in Washington, . is looking to expand its Real Estate Department with a highly skilled Associate to join its dynamic Finance Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate finance and transactions, including mortgage, mezzanine, and construction loans, as well as acquisition and disposition experience. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with a strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, and a passion for working with complex financial transactions.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on various real estate finance transactions, including mortgage, mezzanine, and construction loans.
  • Manage all aspects of real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Draft and negotiate loan documents, agreements, and closing documents.
  • Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and clients to resolve complex legal issues.
  • Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions on a wide array of real estate finance matters.
  • Oversee the due diligence process in real estate transactions, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients in discussions with lenders, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior associates and support their professional development.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in real estate finance and transactions.
  • Proven experience representing lenders in mortgage, mezzanine, and construction loans.
  • Experience in real estate acquisition and disposition matters.
  • Strong background in commercial real estate law.
  • Excellent legal writing and drafting skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters with minimal supervision.
  • Strong client management and communication skills.
  • Must be admitted to the DC Bar or eligible to waive into the DC Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the DC Bar or eligibility to waive into the DC Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of real estate finance, including mortgage, mezzanine, and construction loans.
  • Ability to draft and negotiate complex legal documents.
  • In-depth knowledge of acquisition and disposition procedures in real estate transactions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
