A well-established real estate law firm in California is seeking a Trial Attorney to join its Downtown Los Angeles office. The role involves litigating unlawful detainer actions on behalf of property owners and managers in California state courts. The ideal candidate will have strong oral advocacy skills, a working knowledge of trial procedures, and experience in real estate or landlord-tenant law.

Duties

• Represent property owners and managers in unlawful detainer actions in California state courts
• Conduct and defend depositions as part of the litigation process
• Provide legal advice and counsel through phone consultations, assessing case facts and advising clients
• Respond to client inquiries to enhance business relationships
• Collaborate with legal staff to prepare pre-trial motions, pleadings, and discovery documents

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active membership with the California State Bar
• Strong oral advocacy skills and knowledge of trial procedures and evidence codes
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds with varying communication abilities
• Willingness to appear in court multiple days per week

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of unlawful detainer law
• 1+ years of jury trial experience
• Familiarity with the rental housing industry
