The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling court appearances, drafting motions, conducting depositions, and reporting to insurance companies. The role requires expertise in general liability defense, including personal injury (auto, labor law, etc.), municipal, and civil rights cases. The candidate must possess New York State Bar admission, and Federal Bar admission in the Southern and/or Eastern District is considered a plus.

Job Overview:

The Litigation Attorney will play a crucial role in the firm's legal team, representing clients in various litigation matters. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in general liability defense and a focus on personal injury, municipal, and civil rights cases.

Duties:

• Handle court appearances on behalf of clients.
• Draft motions for legal proceedings.
• Conduct depositions to gather evidence and build strong cases.
• Communicate and report regularly to insurance companies regarding case developments.
• Demonstrate expertise in general liability defense, particularly in personal injury (auto, labor law, etc.), municipal, and civil rights cases.

Requirements:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Federal Bar admission in the Southern and/or Eastern District (preferred).
• Proven experience in general liability defense, focusing on personal injury, municipal, and civil rights cases.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Federal Bar admission in the Southern and/or Eastern District (optional).

Skills:

• Strong litigation skills with a focus on general liability defense.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and research skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
