Associate General Counsel for Transactional Law and Intellectual Property - New York, NY/Washington, DC - Full-time, Non-Union, Hybrid - Planned Parenthood, the nation's leading provider and advocate of high-quality, affordable sexual and reproductive health care, is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their team. - In this role, you will specialize in providing legal advice and business leadership on a variety of matters, including intellectual property and litigation, to the National Office. - You will report to the Deputy General Counsel and work closely with senior leadership and staff to support all aspects of the National Office's communications, brand, and transactional and business litigation matters. - Responsibilities include providing legal counsel and advice, drafting and negotiating contracts, managing intellectual property, and advising on legal and governance matters. - The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree, bar admission in New York or Washington, DC, and a minimum of 7 years of transactional legal experience, including trademark and copyright matters. - They should also possess excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to provide sound business advice and manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels. - This position may involve occasional domestic travel. - The salary for this role ranges from $172,000 to $187,000 per year, and the total offer package includes generous benefits such as vacation, sick leave, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, and a 401k. - Planned Parenthood is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce and encourages applications from all individuals without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. - They also participate in the E-Verify program and are an Equal Opportunity Employer. - This role may work a hybrid schedule, requiring 2-3 days per week in the office, unless denoted as an onsite position, which would require full-time or 5 days per week in the office.

law school ? bar admission: eligible to practice in new york or washington, dc ? experience: minimum 7 years of transactional legal experience, including trademark and copyright matters ? assessing, structuring and mitigating the risks of programs, projects and policy initiatives relating to intellectual property, brand protection, publicity and communications ? knowledge of corporate transaction and contracting processes, including drafting, reviewing, revising and negotiating complex agreements ? knowledge of litigation and other dispute resolution procedures and processes ? general knowledge of tax-exempt laws, and general non-for-profit corporate and governance matters competencies: ? exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively about legal and business issues ? ability to provide sound business advice as well as first-rate legal counsel to business partners at all levels, including executive team and senior leaders ? excellent interpersonal skills and ability to positively and successfully manage relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders across organizational lines ? ability to exercise agility, adaptability, and practicality in providing legal advice ? commitment to providing professional, authoritative, and timely legal advice and services to all clients ? excellent judgment and proven experience analyzing risks and making risk determinations ? excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complicated legal concepts into accessible language for a wide audience ? ability to excel under pressure in a fast-paced, highly innovative, and rapidly changing environment ? ability to work collaboratively with program and operations teams ? knowledge of and sensitivity to different racial/ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, and people with different gender identities, cultural differences and disabilities

Qualification and Experience Juris Doctor (JD) from accredited U.S. law school, bar admission in New York or Washington, DC, minimum 7 years of transactional legal experience
