The organization, Planned Parenthood Great Plains, is currently seeking a Paralegal to join their team in Overland Park, KS. This role is a hybrid of general and administrative duties, and is an opportunity to be a part of an organization that has been providing access to sexual and reproductive health care for over 80 years. The successful candidate will be a vital member of the legal team, supporting the General Counsel and assisting with a variety of tasks related to legal documents, contracts, and compliance. This position offers a starting salary range of $58,000-62,000 and a hour work week. H1: Join Our Team as a Paralegal at Planned Parenthood Great Plains in Overland Park, KS H2: Exciting Opportunity to Support Reproductive Freedom and Make an Impact Responsibilities: - Draft and assist in the preparation of legal documents, contracts, policies, and agreements across various jurisdictions. - Organize and maintain legal documents, contracts, approvals, and files in a global contract management system. - Ensure the accuracy, compliance, and timely approval of legal documents, coordinating with third parties, external counsel, and internal stakeholders. - Proactively identify and implement legal and compliance process improvements, ensuring they align with current regulatory standards. - Oversee contract management systems and ensure corporate filings are up-to-date and compliant with local, federal, and international requirements. - Ensure that all regulatory and business licenses are current and assist in regulatory filings where necessary. - Preserve corporate records, board minutes, and related documentation in compliance with legal requirements. - Support enterprise risk management compliance efforts as required. - Perform thorough legal research on statutes, case law, regulations, and industry-specific requirements. - Prepare and present legal briefs, memos, and correspondence, providing strategic recommendations when applicable. - Collaborate with the General Counsel, other departments, and other stakeholders to streamline communication and ensure clear and efficient legal operations. - Escalate potential legal or compliance issues to the General Counsel in a timely manner. - Optimize current policies and processes to align with company values and long-term goals. - Support the development and implementation of strategic legal initiatives and compliance programs. - Safeguard confidential information with the highest level of discretion. - Manage administrative tasks, including document handling, office organization, and project management support. Qualifications: - Paralegal certification is required, with 3+ years of experience in a corporate or law firm setting. - Strong familiarity with legal terminology, processes, and documentation. - Experience in contract review and management, nonprofit filings, and regulatory compliance. - Proficient in legal document management, contract management software, and Microsoft Office. - Ability to work effectively with a keen attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously. - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. - Previous experience with health care legal and regulatory issues is preferred. - High ethical standards, integrity, and ability to handle confidential information with maturity and discretion. - Capable of working independently, with a demonstrated ability to anticipate needs and implement process improvements.
