Junior to Mid-Level Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a dedicated Junior to Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team in Miami, FL. This role involves handling cutting-edge legal issues surrounding privacy and data protection, intermediary liability, defamation, consumer protection, advertising, unfair competition, free speech, terms of service, and the safety of minors on the Internet. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support to technology companies globally, covering regulatory, litigation, compliance, and criminal matters, and serve in a product advisory capacity.

Key Duties:

• Develop litigation strategy and draft substantive pleadings for global matters, including data protection, defamation, IP infringement, consumer protection, contracts, and other disputes.
• Oversee on-the-ground counsel to implement litigation strategies.
• Guide clients through regulatory investigations by international data protection authorities and other agencies, including drafting submissions, forecasting outcomes, and advising on compliance strategies.
• Advise clients on risk assessments related to new products, policies, business structures, and proposed legislation and regulations worldwide.
• Analyze reports of unlawful social media posts or moderation of user accounts.
• Conduct research and present global analyses of laws impacting social media companies, including intermediary liability, hate speech, and defamation.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of commercial litigation/law firm experience.
• Admitted to the Bar and in good standing.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
