A law firm in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Senior Attorney with over 5 years of experience in personal injury defense litigation. The ideal candidate will independently handle 1st and 3rd party auto litigation, develop case strategies, and advise clients accordingly. This role requires a strong understanding of both state and federal court procedures and excellent legal writing skills.

Duties:

• Independently manage 1st and 3rd party auto litigation cases from inception through resolution.
• Develop and implement effective case strategies, providing informed advice to clients.
• Prepare legal documents, including motions, briefs, case evaluation summaries, and facilitation summaries.
• Conduct discovery, including drafting written discovery requests and taking and defending depositions.
• Represent clients in both state and federal courts during hearings and trial proceedings.
• Maintain accurate tracking of billable hours and case documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective case management and strategy development.
• Stay updated on legal trends and changes in personal injury defense law.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan.
• 5+ years of experience in personal injury defense litigation.

Certifications:

• Prior trial experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with tracking billable hours is preferred but not required.
