Job Overview: A law firm specializing in criminal defense and litigation seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join their team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will provide legal counsel, conduct thorough research, negotiate effectively, and handle a diverse caseload, primarily in Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas. Additionally, the role may involve representing clients in Federal Criminal Cases across North Carolina.

Job Duties:

• Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in criminal defense matters.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of legal issues.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts.
• Negotiate settlements and plea bargains on behalf of clients.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and trials.
• Maintain communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Manage and prioritize multiple cases effectively, meeting deadlines and client expectations.
• Stay updated on changes in the law and judicial decisions affecting clients' cases.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to the North Carolina State Bar, with eligibility to practice law in Mecklenburg County.
• Proven experience in criminal defense law is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and maintain composure.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the North Carolina State Bar or ability to gain admission promptly.
