A law firm in Lansing is seeking an Associate Attorney with a preference for experience or interest in municipal law. The ideal candidate should be licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan.

Job Duties:

• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts.
• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on various legal matters.
• Assist with case management and preparation for trials and hearings.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff on case matters.
• Attend client meetings and communicate effectively with clients.
• Stay updated on relevant legal developments and changes in the law.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Michigan.
• Experience or interest in municipal law preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• License to practice law in the State of Michigan.

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of Michigan.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
• Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Knowledge of municipal law principles and procedures (preferred).
