About the Role: The Assistant General Counsel, Labor & Employment will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws across all aspects of Hogsalt’s operations. This position reports to the General Counsel and offers opportunities to support other legal functions within the company. Responsibilities: - Provide legal counsel and guidance to the executive team and management on all labor and employment matters affecting the company. - Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards across all employment aspects of the company's operations. - Work collaboratively with HR, operations, and finance teams to implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor and employment law. - Counsel HR team on employee disciplinary actions and terminations. - Collaborate with the HR team to design and deliver Hogsalt’s internal training programs for restaurant leadership about employment law and practice. - Develop and implement legal strategies to protect the company's interests and minimize legal risks. - Handle and resolve employment practices legal disputes or litigation, working closely with external counsel when necessary. - Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company's operations, and provide proactive advice and recommendations. - Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion. - Assist with other legal matters as needed, including contract review, negotiation, and drafting.
