Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
  • Conduct legal research and writing
  • Represent management in NLRB elections
  • Provide legal advice to employers regarding union organizing, corporate campaigns, card checks, and neutrality agreements
  • Negotiate and provide legal advice regarding collective bargaining agreements
  • Manage grievance, arbitration, and unfair labor practice proceedings
  • Obtain mass picketing injunctions
  • Advise employers on federal and California wage and hour issues, leave management, disability accommodation issues, and other workplace concerns
  • Review employee handbooks, policies, and forms for compliance with federal and state laws
  • Review compensation, commission, and bonus plans
  • Conduct management training on labor relations, federal and California workplace issues, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Minimum of 9 years of litigation or advice work as an attorney
  • Traditional labor experience preferred
  • Experience with federal and California advice and counsel work preferred
  • Active admission to the California Bar
  • Understanding of current state and federal agency enforcement techniques preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
