Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an enthusiastic and motivated Associate Attorney to join their rapidly expanding team in Saint Paul, MN. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in a wide range of legal areas, primarily focused on advising public entities such as school districts, counties, and cities. The candidate will contribute to the firm’s success by providing legal guidance on constitutional law, labor and employment, special education, civil litigation, contracts, investigations, real estate, and land use. The role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about public sector work, although prior experience in this area is not mandatory. Duties:

  • Advise public entities on legal matters, including constitutional law, labor and employment, special education, and real estate
  • Represent clients in complex civil litigation and administrative proceedings
  • Draft and review contracts, legal agreements, and investigation reports
  • Conduct legal research and provide written opinions on legal issues
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and experts within the firm
  • Handle real estate and land use matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws
  • Participate in public speaking and networking opportunities
  • Attend CLEs and other professional development activities to stay updated with legal trends

Requirements:

  • 0 to 3 years of legal experience (applicants with more experience are also encouraged to apply)
  • Strong academic background with excellent research and writing skills
  • Enthusiasm for learning new areas of law and contributing to a collaborative environment
  • Interest or experience in working with public sector clients is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting client relationships

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to the Minnesota Bar or scheduled for the next exam

Certifications:

  • MN Bar admission (required or pending)
