The ideal candidate should have a strong background in insurance defense, specifically in personal injury, product liability, and premises liability cases. Job Duties:

  • Represent clients in insurance defense matters, primarily involving personal injury, product liability, and premises liability cases.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Prepare for court appearances, depositions, and settlement conferences.
  • Assess cases for liability, damages, and settlement value.
  • Manage case files from intake to resolution, including client reporting, billing, and budgeting.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Conduct depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Maintain communication with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties.
  • Meet or exceed monthly billable hour goals set by the firm.
  • Occasionally travel for court appearances, client meetings, and depositions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas and in good standing.
  • 4+ years of experience practicing civil litigation with a focus on insurance defense.
  • Strong knowledge of current procedural and substantive law, federal and state rules.
  • Effective oral and written advocacy skills.
  • Exceptional research, writing, and briefing skills.
  • Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
