Job Overview: A law firm based in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an experienced Corporate/Employment Counsel to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in employment law, with a proven track record in advising clients on a variety of employment-related issues. This role requires a combination of excellent academic credentials, strong writing abilities, and superior organizational skills. The Counsel will be responsible for providing expert legal advice, drafting key employment documents, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on employment-related compliance, including worker classification, wage and hour laws, immigration issues, union relations, and collective bargaining.
  • Draft and review employment agreements, separation agreements, and related legal documents.
  • Provide guidance on reductions-in-force, WARN Act issues, and employment policies and handbooks.
  • Advise on and draft restrictive covenants to protect client interests.
  • Conduct employment-related due diligence and handle employment-related representations and covenants in transaction documents.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to address complex employment issues and develop effective legal strategies.
  • Stay updated on changes in employment law and regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of employment law experience at a nationally recognized law firm.
  • Proven experience in advising on employment-related compliance and drafting key employment documents.
  • Strong understanding of worker classification, wage and hour laws, immigration, unions and collective bargaining, and equal opportunity laws.
  • Excellent academic credentials and a strong track record of legal practice.
  • Superior writing and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients and internal teams.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Member in good standing of the California State Bar, or eligibility to waive into the CA Bar.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and regulations.
