Job Overview

This role involves managing a full caseload of workers’ compensation cases, advising clients, and representing them in litigation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in defending workers’ compensation cases and possess strong litigation and negotiation skills.

Duties

• Handle all aspects of workers’ compensation cases, from initial evaluation to resolution.
• Develop strategic litigation plans for each case.
• Prepare and manage case budgets, as necessary.
• Conduct legal discovery, including depositions and document reviews.
• Appear in court and other venues for hearings, conferences, and trials.
• Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, and correspondence.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved.
• Negotiate settlements or litigate cases to conclusion while maintaining strong client relationships.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the defense of workers' compensation cases.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex caseloads and conduct trials.
• Strong skills in negotiation, communication, and legal writing.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with the legal team when needed.

Education

• Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in California.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California Bar is required.
