Duties:

  • Manage and advise on a wide array of employee benefits and executive compensation issues, including the drafting, design, implementation, and administration of tax-qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, as well as health and welfare benefit plans.
  • Handle executive compensation and benefits considerations related to mergers and acquisitions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Address taxation issues about executive compensation arrangements, specifically under Sections 409A and 280G of the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Design and draft employment contracts and other executive compensation arrangements, tailoring them to meet client needs.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed memoranda and opinions on relevant issues.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to provide strategic advice and guidance on complex litigation matters.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation law, preferably within a law firm environment.
  • Proven track record of managing complex cases and delivering effective solutions to clients.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients, fostering a productive and supportive work environment.
  • High level of academic achievement and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the state of Illinois.

Skills:
