This role involves providing counsel on employment matters, representing clients in litigation, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations. The position is ideal for a candidate with a solid background in employment defense, particularly in wage and hour litigation, and experience in state and federal courts.

Duties

  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation, including wage and hour disputes, discrimination claims, and other workplace matters.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel on labor and employment issues to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, and motions.
  • Handle negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations to resolve disputes effectively.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and client advisories.
  • Collaborate with legal teams and support staff to manage caseloads and meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in labor and employment law defense.
  • Proficiency in employment litigation, particularly wage and hour cases.
  • Strong analytical, legal research, and writing skills.
  • Experience handling cases in both state and federal courts.
  • Labor law experience and a California license are advantageous but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership with the State Bar of Texas.
