Job Overview
A well-established law firm located in Sacramento, CA seeks an Associate Bankruptcy Attorney. This role involves managing bankruptcy cases with attention to detail and the ability to navigate a high-volume workload. The candidate should demonstrate strong written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills to excel in this position.
Duties
- Review and process Payment Change Notices, Post-Petition Fee Notices, Transfers of Claim, and Proofs of Claim.
- Conduct thorough reviews of Chapter 13 Plans.
- Represent clients in court hearings (both virtual and in-person).
- Draft and file Motions for Relief from Automatic Stay, Objections to Chapter 13 Plan, and other relevant pleadings for secured creditors.
- Manage an assigned caseload effectively to align with client and firm goals.
- Handle escalated and time-sensitive matters when necessary.
- Perform other assigned duties and special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution.
- Preferred experience in bankruptcy or mortgage servicing.
- Active license to practice law in California; additional state admissions are a plus.
- Experience with Chapter 11 and Adversary Proceedings is an advantage.
Education
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Admitted to the State Bar of California.
- Multi-jurisdictional admission is preferred.
