A law firm in Seattle, WA is seeking a Junior to Mid-level Associate Attorney to join its Product Liability practice group. This role involves representing clients in complex product liability litigation, managing case files, conducting legal research, and engaging in discovery. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, federal clerkship experience (preferred), and at least 2 years of litigation experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the representation of clients in product liability litigation matters.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research on product liability issues.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and briefs.
  • Participate in all aspects of the discovery process, including document review, depositions, and interrogatories.
  • Manage case files and ensure timely progression through all stages of litigation.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as required.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop legal strategies and case assessments.
  • Communicate with clients and opposing counsel regarding case developments, updates, and strategies.
  • Stay current with developments in product liability law and regulations affecting clients.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in product liability or related fields.
  • Academic Credentials: Excellent academic record from a respected law school.
  • Federal Clerkship: Federal clerkship experience is preferred but not required.
  • Litigation Skills: Strong litigation skills with experience handling discovery, drafting legal documents, and engaging in court proceedings.
  • Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients.
  • Case Management: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD): A law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Must be admitted to the Washington State Bar or eligible for admission.

Preferred Skills:

  • Federal clerkship experience.
  • Familiarity with product liability regulations and case law.
  • Experience with trial preparation and courtroom appearances.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
