The ideal candidate should have a technical background in software, computer science, electrical, or mechanical areas. They should be proficient in independently conducting research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery practice, and participating in hearings and depositions. The role involves close collaboration with experienced lawyers, active mentoring, and opportunities for increasing levels of responsibility and client contact. Strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality client service are essential.

Duties:

• Conduct research and analysis in intellectual property law.
• Draft substantive pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Organize, conduct, and manage discovery practice.
• Participate in hearings, depositions, and other court proceedings.
• Interface directly with clients and provide legal counsel.
• Collaborate with experienced lawyers to handle complex IP litigation matters.
• Mentor junior associates and support staff as needed.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in intellectual property litigation, with trial experience preferred.
• Technical background in software, computer science, electrical, or mechanical areas.
• Proficiency in conducting legal research and drafting pleadings and motions.
• Experience managing discovery practice and participating in hearings and depositions.
• Strong academic credentials from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar in the jurisdiction of practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to providing high-quality client service.

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar in the jurisdiction of practice.
