Job Title: Environmental Partner
Job Overview: A prestigious law firm in Lansing, MI, is seeking an experienced attorney to join its renowned Environmental Practice Group. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of environmental law, particularly in the context of real estate and corporate transactions. This position offers the opportunity to counsel complex environmental issues and engage with diverse industries, including manufacturing, real estate, and renewable energy.
Duties:
- Advise clients on environmental aspects of complex transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, asset sales, and corporate restructurings.
- Draft and negotiate environmental provisions, including representations, warranties, covenants, and indemnities.
- Provide strategic advice on regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and related matters.
- Conduct environmental due diligence for various business transactions.
- Counsel clients on pre- and post-closing environmental compliance and permitting obligations.
- Collaborate with partners, clients, environmental consultants, and government agencies to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Ensure high-quality work product and clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships and participate in business development activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years of experience practicing environmental law, focusing on real estate and corporate transactions.
- Proven ability to manage complex environmental legal issues.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, energetic approach to client counseling.
Education:
- . from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Licensed attorney in good standing in Michigan, Illinois, or Washington, DC (or eligible for waiver into one of these jurisdictions).
Certifications:
- Must be licensed to practice law in one of the required jurisdictions or have the ability to waive into the jurisdiction.
