A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax-qualified plans and extensive knowledge across various benefits areas, including health and welfare, securities, executive compensation, and M&A transactions. Superior academic credentials and exceptional research, writing, and oral communication skills are essential. The candidate must be licensed and in good standing in New York State.

Job Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on a broad spectrum of employee benefits and executive compensation matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including plan documents, executive agreements, and compliance filings.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on complex regulatory and compliance issues impacting employee benefits and executive compensation arrangements.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams on transactional matters, such as mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructurings.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefit plans, including retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and equity-based compensation plans.
  • Stay current with developments in employee benefits and executive compensation laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission by waiver.
  • 5+ years of experience practicing employee benefits and executive compensation law at a reputable law firm or corporate environment.
  • Strong background in tax-qualified plans and familiarity with various areas of benefits.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
