Job Title: Civil Litigation Attorney (Irvine, CA)
Job Overview:
A well-established law firm with offices in Irvine and San Diego is seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Litigation Attorney. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of general liability cases in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The role involves managing cases from inception through trial, with the support of experienced trial attorneys.
Duties:
- Manage cases involving commercial and umbrella policies, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, and HOA disputes.
- Prepare responsive pleadings and conduct legal research.
- Propound and respond to discovery requests.
- Review and summarize medical records.
- Conduct depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and expert witnesses.
- Attend court hearings and present legal arguments.
- Draft motions, oppositions, and legal briefs.
- Prepare case status reports for insurance carriers.
- Assist with trial preparation and actively participate in trials.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience, with a preference for insurance defense.
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures, case management, and litigation strategy.
- Ability to independently handle a caseload under the supervision of a partner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including oral advocacy.
- Must be able to multitask in a high-demand environment.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a reputable trial law firm.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- An active member of the California State Bar (required).
