A law firm seeks an Attorney licensed to practice in New York or a recent graduate awaiting admission to the New York Bar to join its expanding Workers' Compensation team in Syracuse. Duties

  • Conduct depositions of claimants, physicians, medical professionals, and other relevant parties.
  • Perform in-depth legal research and stay informed about changes in workers' compensation law.
  • Draft legal documents, including appeals, rebuttals, summations, and memoranda of law.
  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings.
  • Guide clients throughout the workers' compensation process, ensuring they understand their rights and options.
  • Advocate for claimants to secure appropriate medical care and benefits.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with support staff to manage case progression effectively.

Requirements

  • Admission to the New York State Bar or pending admission (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
  • Passion for helping injured individuals and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines efficiently.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar (or pending admission).
