This position is available in 4 locations: Atlanta, Georgia, USA; Charlotte, North Carolina, USA; Richmond, Virginia, USA; Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal support to internal clients, managing legal risks, and serving as a trusted advisor and business partner. They will also be required to stay updated on relevant legal developments and provide support on high-risk commercial problem loan matters. Key Responsibilities: - Provide legal support to internal clients, particularly the Asset Resolution Group, on high-profile commercial problem loan matters. - Work closely with asset managers and outside counsel to develop resolution strategies and manage risks. - Assess legal risks and provide legal advice on problem loan and bankruptcy matters. - Stay updated on relevant legislation, regulations, and case law developments related to creditors' rights and bankruptcy. - Participate in quarterly reviews of high-risk problem loans with asset managers. - Serve as an individual contributor and may provide ad hoc work direction and supervision to other legal staff. Qualifications: - Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and licensed to practice law in good standing. - 8 years of post-bar experience in a law firm, government, and/or corporate settings. - Superior written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle a heavy workload. - Ability to work autonomously and in a team-oriented environment. - Proficiency in basic computer applications. - Experience or training in the financial services industry or a related legal specialty is preferred. - Experience in a corporate legal department or a focus on business or finance is a plus. Working Conditions: - This is a full-time, regular position with a standard 1st shift (United States of America) work schedule. - Occasional travel may be required (up to 25%). - Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 10 lbs. - Must have visual and audio abilities to access and interpret client information and communicate with individuals in person and on the phone. - Must be able to work standard office equipment.
