A law firm seeks a dedicated and skilled Small Business Litigation & Transaction Lawyer to join a dynamic team serving small businesses in Oklahoma City, OK. This full-time position offers a balance of transactional work, conflict resolution, and litigation for a diverse client base. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of legal experience with small business matters, from drafting contracts to handling business disputes, with a strong commitment to work-life balance.

Duties:

  • Transactional Work:
    • Draft and review LLC formation documents, customer and employee contracts, vendor agreements, and business sale agreements.
    • Provide legal counsel to small businesses on day-to-day operations and growth strategies.
  • Conflict Resolution:
    • Handle pre-litigation matters, including business disputes and potential breach of contract cases.
    • Resolve conflicts that may arise between business partners or stakeholders.
    • Work on commercial collections, ensuring fair resolutions before escalating to litigation.
  • Litigation:
    • Represent clients in court for business-related disputes that have escalated to litigation.
    • Handle business “divorces” and other disputes that require courtroom representation.
  • Maintain a focus on achieving efficient outcomes, balancing client needs with long-term business goals.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in small business law, including both transactional work and litigation.
  • Familiarity with LLC formations, contract drafting, and business agreements.
  • Strong understanding of conflict management and resolution techniques for small businesses.
  • Experience with business disputes, breach of contract cases, and commercial collections.
  • Ability to handle cases at various stages, from pre-litigation through to courtroom representation.
  • A client-focused attitude with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Oklahoma State Bar or eligibility to practice in Oklahoma.

Skills:

  • Exceptional drafting and legal research skills.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Comfortable managing a variety of business law matters simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong courtroom skills for representing clients in business-related litigation.
