Duties

  • Defend healthcare providers, such as doctors, hospitals, and long-term care facilities, in medical malpractice and nursing home negligence cases
  • Represent clients in all stages of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and settlement negotiations
  • Conduct legal research and draft necessary legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and trial briefs
  • Engage in discovery processes, including depositions, interrogations, and document review
  • Provide counsel and advice to clients on case strategies and legal options
  • Work collaboratively with other attorneys, legal staff, and clients to ensure comprehensive case management

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical malpractice and/or nursing home negligence defense
  • Strong background in civil trial litigation, particularly within healthcare-related matters
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex cases and work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active law license in South Carolina or eligibility for admission to the South Carolina Bar
