A law firm in Framingham, MA, is seeking a dedicated Family Law and Fiduciary Litigation Associate Attorney to handle diverse cases involving divorce, child custody, estate litigation, and other probate and family law matters. The ideal candidate will either have a strong desire to develop skills in family law and fiduciary litigation or possess relevant experience in these areas.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in all aspects of divorce proceedings, child custody disputes, and related family law matters.
  • Handle estate litigation cases, including will contests, trust disputes, and fiduciary litigation.
  • Assist clients with guardianship and conservatorship proceedings, adoptions, and division of marital assets.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, spousal and child support agreements, and restraining orders.
  • Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned legal opinions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the judiciary.
  • Manage a caseload independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Attend court hearings, trials, mediations, and settlement conferences as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, with good standing.
  • Demonstrated interest in or experience with family law and fiduciary litigation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proven time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills necessary to analyze complex legal issues.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience handling family law and fiduciary litigation cases.
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts and Rhode Island family law statutes and probate procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Client-focused approach to legal practice, with strong interpersonal skills.
