A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to enhance its private labor and employment team in Cerritos. This role is ideal for candidates with a solid foundation in general litigation and a specialization in labor law. The successful candidate will be dedicated to providing exceptional legal support while advocating for clients in various employment-related matters.

Duties

• Manage diverse labor and employment cases, including class action lawsuits and single-plaintiff claims.
• Offer comprehensive legal advice and counsel on employment-related issues to clients.
• Conduct discovery processes, including drafting motions, and legal briefs, and managing depositions, both as a conducting attorney and defense.
• Participate in evidentiary hearings, and status conferences, and effectively argue dispositive motions in court settings.
• Assist in preparing for trial, including strategizing case presentation and supporting documentation.
• Perform thorough legal research and produce high-quality written work to support case strategies.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of legal experience in general litigation and/or labor and employment law.
• Familiarity with class action and representative legal actions.
• Proven ability to provide effective legal counsel on employment law matters.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in California and in good standing.

Skills

• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Excellent litigation skills, with the capacity to manage depositions and argue effectively in court.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
• Exceptional communication skills for effective interactions with clients and colleagues.
