Job Overview:
A law firm located in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Senior Family Law Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients in family law matters, providing expert legal advice, and handling various legal proceedings, including trials, mediations, and hearings. Duties:

  • Represent clients in court, including during trials, contested hearings, and motions.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents for family law cases, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide expert legal counsel to clients on family law matters, including Orders for Protection.
  • Negotiate settlements for clients, managing mediation sessions, motions, trials, and SENE/FENEs.
  • Maintain adherence to all applicable legal standards and regulations.
  • Perform administrative and managerial tasks as necessary in the practice of law.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Minnesota.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of legal experience, with a focus on family law.
  • In-depth knowledge of family law statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex legal issues and offer effective solutions.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or within a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong client relationship skills, with the ability to communicate and empathize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Minnesota Bar License in good standing.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation skills, including trial preparation and court representation.
  • Expertise in family law, including domestic violence, custody, and divorce cases.
  • Exceptional negotiation and settlement skills.
  • High-level organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines.
