Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Personal Injury Litigation Attorney with over 10 years of experience to join its team. This role involves leading the MVA/Premises practice group and managing a caseload of complex personal injury, product liability, motor vehicle accident, and premises liability cases. The attorney will represent plaintiffs in federal and state courts nationwide, handling high-profile and catastrophic injury cases. This is a full-time position offering a dynamic environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Duties

• Lead and manage a team of attorneys and support staff within the MVA/Premises practice group
• Oversee all aspects of personal injury litigation, including case investigation, filing, discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial
• Represent clients in high-stakes personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, product liability, premises liability, and negligent security matters
• Develop case strategies, oversee litigation processes, and ensure adherence to deadlines
• Work directly with clients, co-counsel, and other attorneys in a collaborative team environment
• Conduct settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations
• Participate in trial preparation and courtroom representation, including post-trial motions
• Lead business development initiatives and help grow the firm's client base
• Ensure high standards of legal service and client care, maintaining ethical and professional integrity
• Participate in firm meetings, including partner-level discussions
• Oversee the vetting of potential cases and team projections
• Manage and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals, ensuring effective team operations and performance

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience in personal injury law, with proven trial experience
• Strong background in motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, product liability, and catastrophic injury cases
• Demonstrated ability to lead a legal team and manage complex cases from inception to trial
• Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle high-stakes litigation in federal and state courts
• Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach to litigation
• Commitment to social justice and a client-centered approach
• Willingness to travel as needed for case matters
• Proven ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admission to the Illinois Bar and Northern District of Illinois (Required)

Certifications

• Active Illinois Bar License (Required)
