Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Patent Litigation Associate to join its Intellectual Property practice group. This role offers an opportunity for an attorney with 3-6 years of experience to contribute to high-profile patent litigation cases. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in research, drafting discovery responses and requests, and motion practice. A strong technical background in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering is preferred. The position offers the chance to collaborate within a team-oriented environment, with a focus on providing excellent client service and strategic legal counsel.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to patent litigation cases.
  • Draft discovery requests and responses, as well as motions.
  • Prepare and manage case filings and other related documentation.
  • Collaborate with senior associates and partners on litigation strategies and client matters.
  • Engage directly with clients, providing legal counsel and updates on case progress.
  • Assist in pre-trial, trial preparation, and post-trial activities.
  • Manage day-to-day responsibilities for patent litigation matters.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in patent litigation.
  • Strong understanding of patent law and litigation procedures.
  • Proven experience in drafting legal documents, including motions and discovery.
  • Ability to manage multiple litigation cases effectively and efficiently.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the relevant state(s).

Skills:

  • Technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering (preferred).
  • Strong expertise in patent litigation and intellectual property law.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to think critically and develop litigation strategies.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
