A law firm based in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking a highly qualified Senior Regulatory Associate Attorney with expertise in energy regulations. The Senior Regulatory Associate Attorney will play a pivotal role in providing legal support and guidance to clients in the energy industry. They will be responsible for handling a wide range of regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters, with a specific focus on utilities regulation at both state and federal levels. Additionally, the role involves representing energy companies and large industrial users in negotiations and power purchase agreements with utilities.

 

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel and support to clients in the energy industry, particularly in regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters.
  • Navigate the complex landscape of utilities regulation at both state and federal levels.
  • Represent energy companies and large industrial users in negotiations and power purchase agreements with utilities.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on energy regulations and industry developments.
  • Draft and review legal documents including contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the energy industry, with a strong emphasis on regulatory matters.
  • Proven track record of working with clients in the energy sector to address regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional challenges.
  • In-depth understanding of regulations governing utilities at both state and federal levels.
  • Outstanding academic credentials.
  • Extensive experience in litigation, regulatory, and legislative matters within the energy and/or extractive industries.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of Wisconsin or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
