Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a skilled Municipal Litigation Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join its dynamic team in Los Angeles, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to represent local governments and public agencies throughout Southern California in a variety of legal matters, including municipal code enforcement, land use, administrative law, and real estate disputes. As part of a collaborative team, the successful candidate will gain valuable experience handling complex litigation from inception through trial.
Duties:
- Manage cases from start to finish, including litigation strategy, discovery, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and trial.
- Handle law and motion practice at both trial and appellate levels, including presenting oral arguments.
- Provide timely legal counsel to city staff and government officials as needed.
- Represent local governments in public meetings, including city council sessions.
- Engage in community outreach and educate the public on compliance with state and local laws.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient case management and strategy development.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in municipal law or related fields.
- Strong background in handling complex legal matters, particularly in government representation.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and work under tight deadlines.
- Experience representing governmental bodies in public and legal forums.
- Familiarity with both state and federal court processes.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Current California State Bar membership in good standing.
