Duties:

  • Advise clients on immigration-related matters and devise strategic legal solutions.
  • Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a full caseload, ensuring cases progress efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct client intakes, including visiting detained individuals at centers to assess their cases.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, such as removal defense, family-based petitions, and humanitarian cases.
  • Review immigration applications and make necessary revisions to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to stay informed of changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for consultations, determine the best strategy for their cases, and advise accordingly.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and USCIS interviews.
  • Provide detailed legal analysis to identify potential benefits and risks in clients' cases.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs in support of a wide range of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload and move cases forward efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Experience in Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS processes.
  • Experience using case management software is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Arizona.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Arizona State Bar.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases.
