Location

Duties

  • Advise business clients on various employment law matters, including compliance and policy development
  • Conduct legal research, draft briefs, prepare pleadings, and develop workplace policies
  • Investigate workplace violations, including incidents of alleged sexual harassment and other misconduct
  • Respond to and investigate complaints related to employment and higher education regulations
  • Prepare charge responses and provide guidance on complaint handling procedures
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to deliver comprehensive legal support
  • Engage in specialized training and stay updated on topics such as Title IX, FERPA, Campus SAVE Act, VAWA, and related regulations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in employment law, including both advisory and litigation functions
  • Proficiency in investigating and addressing workplace complaints, including policy drafting and charge responses
  • Strong client service, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active law license in Minnesota

Skills

  • Expertise in employment law, particularly within the higher education sector
  • Exceptional research, writing, and analytical abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capacity for client relations
  • Familiarity with higher education compliance areas, including Title IX, FERPA, and related laws
