A law firm in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney to join their skilled Immigration Team. Reporting to the Sr. Associate Attorney, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, providing strategic legal counsel, and collaborating with attorneys and legal assistants. The role demands a high level of expertise in immigration law, excellent client interaction skills, and the ability to handle complex cases effectively.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and develop strategic solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a comprehensive caseload of immigration cases.
  • Conduct intakes and provide legal support to detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file a variety of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications and packets as needed.
  • Present and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on updates and changes in immigration law.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients and determine necessary legal strategies.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential case benefits and strategies.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a range of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Proven experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR matters, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Proficiency with Case Management Software is preferred.
  • Preferably bilingual (Spanish).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage a caseload and advance legal cases effectively.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the state of Texas.

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and legal assistants.
  • Excellent client service and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of managing a caseload and advancing legal cases.
