Experienced Attorney in Local Government Law for Law Firm in Manassas The Law Firm of Sands Anderson PC is currently seeking a highly motivated and well-rounded attorney with experience in local government law to join our Government Group in Northern Virginia. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the towns, counties, and cities we serve across Northern Virginia in a wide variety of practice areas. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about public service and has a strong background in local government practice. Job Responsibilities: - Provide legal support and counsel to localities and government agencies in Northern Virginia. - Attend local government meetings and court appearances in Juvenile & Domestic Relations, General District, and Circuit Courts within Northern Virginia. - Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including contracts, ordinances, and resolutions. - Represent clients in litigation matters and provide general counsel services. - Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing excellent client service and maintaining strong relationships. - Manage multiple tasks and priorities to support a busy senior attorney. Requirements: - Must be licensed to practice law in Virginia. - Residence in Northern Virginia is preferred. - Minimum 5 years of litigation and/or general counsel experience with local government agencies and/or the Department of Social Services. - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. - Excellent client service and communication skills. - Background in public sector and local government practice is preferred. - Must be willing to travel within Virginia for local government meetings and court appearances.
