Duties

• Conduct client intakes and gather necessary case files from prior counsel.
• Attend night court sessions and work cooperatively with court clerks, police departments, prosecutors, Division of Family Services, GALs, and other relevant parties.
• Organize and maintain case file materials and conduct legal research.
• Prepare and deliver pre-trial motions, objections, briefs, and post-trial briefs.
• Conduct witness examinations and closing arguments.
• Prepare exhibits and witnesses for trial.
• Communicate effectively with clients and other legal professionals.
• Demonstrate strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in family law and wills/estates.
• Experience handling cases in a courtroom environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, listen attentively, and take instructions.
• Strong work ethic, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Comfort and competence in client-facing interactions and legal negotiations.

Education

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri.
