Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney with experience in Construction Defect Litigation to join its team in Denver, CO. This position involves assisting and supporting a Firm Partner in handling construction-related disputes through all phases of litigation. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough legal research, drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and representing clients in court proceedings. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a collaborative attitude.

Duties:

  • Conduct detailed investigations into construction defects, gathering evidence and consulting with experts such as engineers or architects.
  • Draft legal pleadings, motions, and discovery documents to initiate or respond to legal actions.
  • Manage the discovery process, including reviewing technical evidence, documents, and depositions.
  • Assist the Firm’s Partner in negotiating settlements with opposing parties or their insurance companies.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, trials, or arbitration proceedings, presenting evidence and making legal arguments.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates on case progress, legal options, and strategic advice.
  • Prepare remediation and damages reports to secure appropriate remedies for clients, including repairs or financial compensation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations throughout the litigation process.
  • Work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment, managing time effectively under tight deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar license in the state of Colorado (or ability to be admitted).
  • 2-3 years of experience in construction defect litigation, with a strong foundation in general construction law.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented, people-focused work environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license in Colorado (required).
