A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Landlord/Tenant & Real Estate Attorney to join their legal team in Binghamton, New York. Duties:

  • Represent clients in landlord-tenant disputes, eviction proceedings, and real estate transactions.
  • Provide legal counsel on property management issues, lease agreements, and tenant rights.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research on landlord-tenant law, property regulations, and related issues.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents such as lease agreements, eviction notices, settlement agreements, and real estate contracts.

  • Advocate for clients in state and local courts, including preparing legal arguments, examining witnesses, and managing evidence.
  • Offer strategic advice to clients on legal rights and obligations, helping them make informed decisions on real estate matters.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and mitigate potential legal risks in real estate transactions.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, maintaining accurate records, meeting deadlines, and communicating with clients and opposing counsel.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
  • Proven experience in landlord-tenant disputes and real estate law.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to take on challenging legal matters and develop professionally.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of New York.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
