A law firm in Saint Joseph, MI is seeking an Aerospace and Defense Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience in federal government contracts, preferably with knowledge of . export controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advising clients on A&D matters, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in administrative and court proceedings.

Duties:

• Advise clients on government and commercial contracts related to aerospace and defense
• Draft legal memoranda, bid protests, REAs, claims, and policy articles
• Conduct legal research on government contracts, subcontracts, and regulatory requirements
• Manage projects effectively and demonstrate strong organizational skills
• Represent clients in administrative and court proceedings, including bid protests and claims
• Assist with internal and government investigations and compliance planning
• Provide transactional and litigation support, including M&A activities

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal government contracts
• Familiarity with . export controls, including OFAC sanctions
• Admission to the State Bar of Michigan or the . Bar, or eligibility for admission by anticipated start date
• Portable book of business is desirable

Education:

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

Admitted to the State Bar of Michigan or the . Bar, or eligible for admission by anticipated start date

Skills:

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Proficiency in legal research services
• Knowledge of government contracting regulations, including the FAR, DFARS, and agency FAR supplements
• Experience with space law and government contracting cost issues is advantageous
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
