Job Title: Family Law Attorney
Job Overview:

Duties:
- Represent clients in court for family law cases, including custody, divorce, and other related matters.
- Manage a consistent schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences.
- Attend trials and court proceedings on behalf of clients.
- Oversee and manage legal issues between family members, ensuring legal processes are followed.
- Advise staff and interpret relevant laws and statutes.
- Collaborate regularly with caseworkers, supervisors, and program administrators.
- Supervise and direct mediation sessions, providing sound legal advice.
- Maintain and organize all official legal documents and filings.
- Keep clients updated and informed about the progress of their cases.
- Work closely with the SIJS Department, managing both family law and immigration law aspects of client cases.
- Represent clients at SIJS hearings in Maryland courts.
Requirements:
- Active Bar membership in Virginia.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience handling Maryland custody and divorce cases.
- In-depth knowledge of Maryland family law, procedures, and statutes.
- At least three years of related legal experience.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
- Strong academic background and solid legal skills.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Active Virginia Bar License.
