Job Overview:

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with expertise in family law and probate to join its expanding practice in Denver, CO. This role is ideal for a dedicated legal professional eager to work in a collaborative environment and contribute to the firm's growing client base. The ideal candidate will handle a diverse caseload, offer strategic legal counsel, and represent clients in court proceedings. The firm provides a flexible work environment, combining in-office collaboration with remote work opportunities.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of 20-40 family law and probate matters from initiation to resolution.

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, agreements, and other legal documents.

  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.

  • Advise clients on divorce, child custody, spousal support, estate planning, guardianships, and related legal matters.

  • Handle probate proceedings, including emergency guardianship cases.

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and enhance legal services.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.

  • Travel in-state for hearings and client meetings as required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a growing legal practice.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with Colorado family law statutes, rules, and court procedures.

  • Experience in probate, estate planning, or personal injury law is a plus.

  • Ability to handle courtroom proceedings and advocate effectively for clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the Colorado State Bar.

Skills:

  • Litigation and trial experience.

  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting.

  • Strong client relationship management.

  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving legal practice.
