A law firm in Detroit, MI, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intellectual Property Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate should have extensive expertise in the transactional aspects of trademark, copyright, technology, and entertainment law. Substantive experience in these areas is essential, but a high level of professionalism is equally critical.

Job Details

Duties:

• Provide national and international trademark counseling and prosecution.
• Manage trademark licensing and enforcement.
• Handle copyright ownership, registration, licensing, and enforcement.
• Draft and negotiate endorsement contracts and advertising law matters.
• Draft and negotiate option and production agreements.
• Oversee technology development, ownership, and licensing transactions.
• Advise clients on legal strategies related to intellectual property.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex IP issues.
• Collaborate with clients to develop and implement IP protection strategies.
• Stay updated on industry trends and legal developments in intellectual property law.

Requirements:

• Expertise in the transactional aspects of trademark, copyright, technology, and entertainment law.
• Experience in national and international trademark counseling and prosecution.
• Proven ability in licensing and enforcement of trademarks and copyrights.
• Substantial experience with endorsement contracts and advertising law.
• Knowledge of option and production agreements.
• Experience in technology development, ownership, and licensing transactions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the state bar.

Certifications:

• Admission to the state bar in Michigan is required.
